13 Trends to Try This Summer

Jumpsuits/Playsuits
The adult version can be so playfully chic! Pair with a cardigan and sandals for daytime and heels and a blazer for evening. Cartwheels allowed.
Boyfriend Blazers
Blazers are still in full effect...but lighter and looser! Best in twill or linen in shades of camels, creams and whites, this must-have loves it when you push up its sleeves and pop its collar.
Short Shorts
This trend is not for everyone, but it certainly is an excellent shape-up motivator! Buy one size up and wear low on hips for the illusion of slimmer gams, and be sure to pair with an oversize proportion on top for stylish balance.
Floral Prints
A little of this trend can go a long way! While we are smitten with sweet floral dresses, flouncy skirts and blousy tops, a floral hair accessory, scarf or earring can gently feminize any look.

Pastels
Step away from the bright and vibrant colors from last summer, and reach for anything soft and dreamy. Pale peaches and pinks, gentle greens and baby blues make us swoon. Don't be afraid to wear any touch of pastel with summer denim, khakis or whites.

Safari
This rough and tough trend is the easiest to incorporate into your wardrobe. Army and khaki utilitarian accessories, pants and jackets are easy to find and easier to wear. We love oversize army jackets, surplus bags and totes and even a standard issue web belt over what you already own.

Fringe
It's whimsical with a touch of rock 'n' roll groupie. You can find fringe in a scarf, hobo bag or even on a necklace. Its so relevant and, somehow, makes you want to dance.

White
Summer white is crisp and chic. It can be worn day or night, at work or on the weekend. Slouchy white trousers, crisp menswear button ups or feminine sundresses are best bright and clean. Pair with ethic jewelry or even black...instantly sophisticated!

Summer Socks
Okay, we know, sort of bad school girl look...but so adorable. We couldn't look past this trend that was all over the runways and think it can be so stylish if done right. While we prefer natural, pastels colors in the sheerest of fabrics paired with oxfords or '70s sandals, if you are bold enough to give it a try, add your own spin to it!
Summer Scarves
Steer clear of dark colors or heavy wool. Throw over tees or tanks to add a dimension or interest. Prints, patterns or fringe are a must!

Ethnic Influences
Worldly charm is back! While you may not be jet-setting around the world this summer, you can certainly look like you are! Ikat prints, faded metallic touches and organically inspired elements are effortless and easy layering element.

Huge, Chunky Bracelets
Pile them on! The more substantial and unlikely the better. Don't try to match these yummy accessories to anything—just wear with abandon! We simply love them even with white tees and jeans. One thing to note: Be sure to go easy on any other accessories while wearing this trend.
Clogs
This '70s shoe has been waiting for its comeback for years, and it couldn't come back at a better time! While shoes are remaining substantial and chunky, clogs are additionally casual and comfortable. All of our favorite things, in one shoe!
