No president and first lady are able to accomplish everything they'd like to do during their tenure in the White House. In her recent interview with Oprah, Michelle Obama reveals what she regrets not having done during that time.
"I wish we could have done something about gun violence. We have spent so much time mourning with so many families," the first lady says. "One of the hardest things it is to do is to look mothers in the eye who just had their babies shot."
The process of condolence never gets easier, she says. "We went to too many funerals. We've mourned too many unnecessary losses of life, and I wish we could have rallied the nation to do something about it. So that's...yeah, that's something we didn't get done."
