The Happiest Time of Dick Van Dyke's Life

The words "icon" and "legend" get throw around a lot, but when it comes to entertainers, Dick Van Dyke is the definition of both.

We first met the star on the Dick Van Dyke Show, which ran from 1961-1966. Often referred to as one of the greatest shows of all time, the sitcom centered around television show writer Rob and his loveable wife Laura, who was played by fellow TV legend Mary Tyler Moore.

"The five years on the Dick Van Dyke Show were the happiest five years in all our lives," Dick says. "It was creative, we laughed, we joked every day, and there was a lot of improv going on. It was just such fun to do. I'd still be doing it if they let me!"
