An Australian Couple's Unforgettable Love Story

During the final season of The Oprah Winfrey Show, Oprah and her team went Down Under for the adventure of a lifetime in beautiful Australia. While filming an episode at the Sydney Opera House, Oprah met Kristian and Rachel Anderson, a couple who epitomized Aussie spirit.

Kristian, a husband and father of two young boys, had recently been diagnosed with liver and bowel cancer. Oprah surprised Kristian and his wife, Rachel, with a check for $250,000, which made it possible for them to spend more time together as a family.

Sadly, a year after that show aired, Kristian lost his battle with cancer at the age of 36. Now, almost three years after his death, Rachel shares how she and their sons are coping. "Since we were on The Oprah Show, life is...it's pretty much turned upside down for us, in sad ways and good ways," she says.
