Jeffery Pushes Veronica over the Edge

With the FBI hot on her trail, Veronica sneaks into David's house to get rid of any incriminating evidence that Erica may have hidden. However, she is caught by surprise when she finds Jeffery and Madison kissing in a closet, and she confronts them at the top of the stairs, on the second floor. As usual, Veronica is quick to berate her son and harasses Madison to boot.

But Jeffery has had enough. "Just get your ass out of here before I have to drag you out," he tells her.

"Drag me? Oh, Jeffery. Drag me?"

"Yes."

"You would say something about drag, wouldn't you?" Veronica replies mockingly.

"Go. Okay?" Jeffery says, trying to compose himself. "Just go."

"I will go," Veronica says. "I just need to see if this girl left something."

But Jeffery has already found what she's looking for—and he has plans of his own. "No, you need to see if your name is on something. Let me tell you, it is," Jeffery says, a slight smirk forming on his face. "You and Candace. And I'm taking all of that to the police. Now go."

Veronica doesn't budge, challenging Jeffery to move her. This time, Jeffery knows just how. "You want me to move you, right?" he says, moving toward Madison.

Jeffery begins to kiss Madison, who is creeped out and tells Jeffery to stop, but Jeffery persists. Veronica begins to yell at Jeffery, begging him to desist, but to no avail. Finally, Veronica walks over and grabs Jeffery's shoulder, which sets him off. As Madison looks on in horror, the mother and son violently grapple with each other, unwittingly edging ever closer to the banister, until one last forceful shove sends Veronica toppling over the railing. After rushing to the edge of the stairwell, Jeffery and Madison gaze down in shocked silence at Veronica's motionless body lying among some moving boxes on the hardwood below.
