Lin-Manuel Miranda, creator and star of the Broadway phenomenon Hamilton, touched the hearts of millions at the 2016 Tony Awards when he delivered an impassioned acceptance speech, in which he addressed the terrible Pulse nightclub shooting in Orlando, Florida, that had just taken place the morning of the award show. "It was a prayer that came out of a really tough day," he says. Here, Lin-Manuel opens up to Oprah about how the deadliest mass shooting in modern U.S. history led him to compose his heartbreaking sonnet.
