Amy Schumer on Her Abusive Ex: "I Was Afraid for My Life"

During her sit-down for Oprah's Super Soul Conversations, Amy Schumer, star of the new romantic comedy I Feel Pretty, opens up about being in a physically abusive relationship with her ex-boyfriend until she finally realized how toxic it was and left. Amy describes how she kept making excuses for her former boyfriend's behavior, even though there were incidents when she feared for her life. "I can picture being thrown on the hood of a car like it was an hour ago," Amy says. "And running from him. Carrying my shoes and running from him. Running into backyards, trying to get away from him because I was afraid for my life."
