Season 8 Episode 805

Often, the best lessons we learn in life are the ones that take us the longest to understand. In this collection of excerpts from Soul to Soul, past guests of Super Soul Sunday reveal what those hard-earned lessons were in their lives.

For author and motivational speaker Rob Bell, his lesson is that there's no need to always have to impress others. "There's nothing to prove," he says.

"Life isn't an accident. That's the lesson," former NBA player Jay Williams says.

Author and transgender activist Janet Mock had to learn about self-acceptance. "You are enough," she says. "You don't have to go get anymore. You don't have to do more. You don't have to prove that you're exceptional. You don't have to get things outside of yourself to be worthy of being seen and heard."
