Season 255 Episode 5
Aired on 11/02/2014 | CC tv-14
Best-selling author and spiritual teacher Marianne Williamson decided to forge a new path for herself in 2013 when she decided to run for the seat left open by the retiring U.S. Rep. Henry Waxman in California's 33rd Congressional District. Her campaign was not successful.

A rookie at age 61, Marianne says every experience can be a rebirth of sorts, no matter how old you are. "The challenge of age is not to skip life's disappointments but to transcend them," she says. In the video above, Marianne explains why gaining wisdom is like giving birth, and shares how taking risks can positively affect the world around us.
