To celebrate the 20th anniversary of his best-seller Tuesdays with Morrie, author Mitch Albom joins Oprah to reflect on the impact the book has made on readers worldwide, and to remember the man who inspired it, Morrie Schwartz.

Among the many lessons that Morrie imparted to Mitch, it was Morrie's philosophy that "giving is living" that inspired Mitch the most.

Here, Mitch recalls how when Morrie's loved ones would try to comfort the ailing man—who was dying from amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS), also known as Lou Gehrig's disease—it was Morrie who would end up comforting those around him instead.
