Season 8 Episode 804
CC | tv-pg
In his book The More Beautiful World Our Hearts Know Is Possible, author, speaker and activist Charles Eisenstein explores ideas and concepts such as developing empathy and becoming less judgmental while also improving the world around us.

"How do we begin to shift from what you call a culture of judgment to a culture of empathy?" Oprah asks Charles, referring to a passage in his book.

"For me, the basic practice is to ask, 'What is it like to be you?'" Charles says, noting how the tendency to pit good versus evil has done little to benefit the greater good.

Here, Charles explains how we, as a society, can begin to shift from being a culture that judges others to building a culture where empathy is valued.
