The Powerful Lesson Tuesdays with Morrie Author Mitch Albom Learned About Forgiveness

Season 8 Episode 811
CC | tv-pg
Twenty years after the release of his best-selling memoir Tuesdays with Morrie, author Mitch Albom opens up about how Morrie Schwartz, Mitch's late teacher who inspired the book, taught him a lesson about forgiveness that he still treasures today. Mitch recounts a moment in which he saw Morrie break down into tears over never having made amends with a former friend that had passed away. "He said, 'If there's anyone you love or you care about and you're fighting or feuding, let it go. ... Because when you get to where I am, and you will get to where I am, you won't care who was right or wrong.'"

Here, Mitch tells Oprah how Morrie inspired him to have a more forgiving heart.
