Why This Superfan Finds Violet So Relatable

Violet is the glue that holds the Bordelons together. Author and blogger TaRessa, an avowed Queen Sugar superfan, says she relates to Violet's role in the family, "the one who is home base emotionally and psychologically for everybody, no matter what changes they're going through." However, TaRessa recognizes that Vi is more than a caretaker, and relates to the personal challenges she faces. "At the same time, she's going through her own changes—I'm in a similar stage of life—where it was really moving to me when Nova had to sit her down and tell her to put herself first."
