Violet Finally Shares Her Diagnosis with the Family

Following Violet's appearance on Wake Up, NOLA, orders are flooding in for her pies. In addition to managing her growing business, Violet is also trying to plan for her upcoming wedding. With so many things to take care of, the stress of juggling it all finally gets to her, and she has a health scare that stops her in her tracks.

Afterward, Violet gathers her family and informs them that it was only a case of pneumonitis. She attempts to reassure them that she's okay, but they are still concerned. Then, with Hollywood's prompting, Violet finally reveals that she was also diagnosed with lupus—and that she's known about it for months.

"Why didn't you tell us before?" Charley asks, worried.

"Because I didn't need y'all worryin'," Violet replies as her family lets out a collective sigh of exasperation. "Nova's been helping me eat better—"

"Aunt Vi, we all want to know what's goin' on with you," Ralph Angel cuts in. "What if something worse happened?"

"But it didn't," Violet says. "I'm fine."

"Not if you're keeping your health issues from us," Ralph Angel responds.

Violet explains that she understands their concern, but, in pure Violet fashion, she says she's more worried that she won't be able to fulfill all the pie orders that are coming in. Although they are beyond frustrated with Violet's stubbornness, the Bordelons willingly volunteer to handle the orders while she recovers. With a deep sigh, Violet reluctantly accepts their help.
