Season 3 Episode 306
CC | tv-pg
Queen Sugar showrunner Kat Candler and producing director DeMane Davis discuss Episode 306, "Delicate and Strangely Made," directed by Christina Choe. In this exclusive clip, Kat and DeMane examine the scene where Micah and his new friends are racially harassed by teens flying the Confederate flag. Kat comments on how Micah's attitude and worldview are being influenced by the political environment of the South, feeding his nascent activism.

"It's hard not to be clear about what that flag means," DeMane says, "especially when people of a certain age are hoisting it."

"Those are moments that the show doesn't shy away from," Kat adds. "We want to create conversation and create awareness of our reflection of what's happening in the world."

Plus, watch as Kat and DeMane talk about Darla and Ralph Angel's strained relationship and why Ralph Angel's budding romance with his boss's daughter, Trinh, is so exciting.

Tune in Wednesdays at 10 p.m. ET/PT, only on OWN.
