Davis Confesses His Long-Kept Secret to Charley

Davis has proven time and time again that he is a flawed man. In an effort to come clean about his deceitful past, he reveals to Charley that he has a 13-year-old daughter from an affair he had during their marriage. He also shares his plans to move back to Los Angeles to take care of her.

Davis has reopened the deep emotional wounds he already inflicted on his ex-wife, and Charley is momentarily silent, staring at him as if in disbelief. Finally, she says, "When do you hit bottom?"

He continues to apologize and promises to "make amends," but then Davis lets slip that he already told Micah about the affair and his previously unknown sister—and Charley sees red. As the tempest of emotions wells up within her, rage emerges first, and she flies at Davis, screaming for him to get out of her house immediately.
