Why Ava DuVernay Wanted Aurora Guerrero to Direct on Queen Sugar

Season 2 of Queen Sugar features an all-female directing team hand-picked by show creator and executive producer Ava DuVernay. For the third episode of the season, Ava brought Aurora Guerrero on board. Aurora, who was behind the 2012 Sundance hit Mosquita y Mari, has a great eye that comes through in the images, Ava says. Here, Ava explains why she was excited to see new work from Aurora, and producing director Kat Candler opens up about the "stunning shot" the whole crew was "drooling over."
