The Friends Cast Emotional Final Taping

Aired on 05/07/2004 | CC tv-pg
It's hard to believe, but more than a decade has gone by since your Friends Rachel, Monica, Chandler, Phoebe, Joey and Ross took a bow. Twelve years ago today the final episode of the hit NBC sitcom aired.

In 2004, shortly after taping the grand finale, the cast (minus Matt LeBlanc who was in production on the short-lived spin-off show Joey) joined Oprah for an intimate conversation about the overwhelming emotions on the day of their last show. "It was painful," Courteney Cox, who played Monica, told Oprah. "I could cry right now."

Lisa Kudrow, who played Phoebe, added, "I knew that I would talk to and see these people, but it was just the end of Rachel and Ross and Monica and Chandler and Phoebe and Joey, and that's what would make me cry."
