Should Kids Be Allowed to Decorate Their Own Rooms?

CC | tv-pg
After a 2004 episode of The Oprah Winfrey Show, Trading Spaces host Paige Davis shared her thoughts on whether children should be allowed to decorate their own rooms. She believed parents should let their children express themselves by making their living spaces their own.

Trading Spaces carpenter Carter Oosterhouse explained how his parents allowed him to cover his walls with sports memorabilia as a child. He believed this helped him forge his own identity and gave him a safe space to express himself.

"A childhood is irreplaceable," Carter's mother added. "Let him have his childhood."

Watch as Paige and Carter emphasize the importance of creative freedom.
