One Woman Redesigns Her Bedroom as a Psychological Self-Portrait

Gina felt completely stuck in a rut. Her home, she told O magazine columnist Martha Beck, felt cold and lonely. Martha explained that Gina's house was forming an unconscious self-portrait of how she felt about her life. In fact, Martha learned, Gina was psychologically scarred by sexual abuse she suffered from ages 5 to 11.

Here, in an archival Oprah Show clip, Martha walks Gina through the process of creating a home that reflects who she really is.
