Super Bowl XXXVIII, in 2004, was one of the biggest nights in television, with more than 90 million viewers tuned in and a halftime extravaganza promising pop superstars Janet Jackson and Justin Timberlake. Although the game's score has long faded from viewers' memories, it was a split-second incident during the halftime show that lingers on.

During the show's grand finale, Justin joined Janet onstage to sing a duet of his hit song "Rock Your Body." At one point, Justin ripped Janet's bustier, exposing her breast on live TV, naked aside from a large sunburst-shaped ring. It was a showstopper that sparked a firestorm of controversy throughout the country.

Was it all planned or was it an accident? No one knew. Here, in this clip from her 2006 appearance on The Oprah Winfrey Show, Janet sits down with Oprah to share her side of the story—the first and last time Janet said she would ever address it.
