Aired on 04/03/2007 | CC
Single and focused on climbing the corporate ladder, Genevieve Piturro was 38 years old when she realized she was destined to work with children. Soon, she was dedicating her nights to volunteering at homeless shelters and foster care centers, and in the process, she noticed that none of the children owned pajamas. Instead, they would sleep in their regular clothes. Watch as Genevieve tells the Oprah Show audience about the aha! moment that led to the Pajama Program, through which she raised 85,000 pairs of pajamas in only five years.
