Growing up, Charlize Theron had it rough. As a teenager living in South Africa, she witnessed her mother shoot her father dead one night when he came home drunk, threatening them. Later, as we know, Charlize became a glamorous movie star and an Oscar® winner. Yet, she never forgot her home.

In 2008, Oprah Show cameras followed the actress to KwaZulu-Natal, South Africa, where she educated a group of children on safe sex, a topic regarded as taboo in that part of the world.
