Trayvon Martin's Mother Offers Advice to Philando Castile's Fiancée

Diamond Reynolds is trapped in the past. In July 2016, Diamond livestreamed the aftermath of a routine traffic stop in which her fiancé, Philando Castile, was shot to death by a police officer who claims that he thought Philando was reaching for a firearm. She became one of the faces of a growing movement, not unlike Trayvon Martin's mother, Sybrina Fulton. To better understand what Diamond is going through, Iyanla invites Sybrina to share her story of losing her son to wrongful violence.

Sybrina tells Diamond that she needs to surround herself with support, whether it's the positive energy of those who want to help or the fortifying words of a favorite Bible verse. One thing is certain, Sybrina says: What's done is done and there's no going back to the way things were. She urges Diamond to have faith in God's plan and do her best to discover what her new place in it will be.
