Couple Realizes That Getting a Divorce May Be the Most Loving Option

After spending three intense days working with Iyanla to fix his six-year marriage to his wife, La'Gena, 28-year-old Cornelius comes to a major realization: He was never ready to be a husband. "I didn't know what a husband is. I didn't know what a marriage was, and I was ashamed to say that," Cornelius tells La'Gena. "I thought that I could be that man that you needed me to be. I thought I could fill those shoes, and I couldn't. I have my own personal issues, and I just hate, hate that I took you down that path with me, because it was my path alone."

La'Gena responds with clarity and compassion. "This is something that you wanted to tell me a long time ago, and you just didn't know how," she says. "And I'm happy that you got to this point. I want you to succeed ... even if it means letting you go."

"You'll always be my friend," Cornelius tells her. "Always got your back."

"I know. I always got yours," La'Gena says. "We ride or die."

"Ride or die," Cornelius says, nodding.
