Eugene Clashes with Iyanla over Certain Military Values

Season 4 Episode 413
Aired on 10/07/2017 | CC tv-14
Thirty-five-year-old Eugene is a military veteran and a rape survivor. The former Marine was first sexually abused at age 12, and then later experienced military sexual trauma (MST) while serving in the Marine Corps. In speaking with Iyanla about these violations, Eugene starts to feel that he and the life coach don't see eye to eye on some of the Marine Corps values, particularly that "pain is weakness leaving the body."

For Eugene, this is a good type of pain. Iyanla, however, feels that there's no such thing. Their differing perspectives come to a head when Iyanla senses Eugene's anger and presses him to express what he's feeling.
