Season 4 Episode 419
Aired on 05/27/2017 | CC tv-pg
Former Basketball Wives L.A. star Laura Govan is in the middle of a nasty custody battle with her children's father, former NBA star Gilbert Arenas. As Gilbert wages a strong financial fight, Laura and her parents fear that she is at risk of losing her four children—but Iyanla is confident this won't happen. In fact, Iyanla suggests that Laura stop fighting Gilbert for the kids altogether.

"Like I told you yesterday, let go. You're not going to lose your kids," Iyanla tells Laura. "He don't want 'em! His fight is not with those kids, for those kids, about those kids. His fight is to take you down."

Laura is overcome with emotion and struggles to speak through her tears. "I'm so sad that I brought my children into this. I hurt for them," she says. "I feel so guilty about not letting go."

Laura adds that she doesn't want to fight all the time anymore. "I just want it to be over," she cries. "The drama. The headlines. The image."

Iyanla offers her support. "You can't do it with the tools that brought you here. You can't. They're not going to work to go where you're going," she tells Laura. "Look at me. You are enough. You are enough. You are enough, without the lashes or the accessories. You are enough. When you know that, you could sell doughnut holes on the corner. You're going to be okay."
