Why Brad and Alex Only Made Love in the Missionary Position

New roommates—and former lovers—Brad and Marcie discuss the complicated relationship that Brad and his wife, Alex, had sexually. Brad recently learned that Alex had been sexually abused by her father as a young girl, which shines a whole new light on their fraught sex life.

"Early on in our marriage, I learned not to take her out of her comfort zone," Brad says to Marcie. "Sex just became boring, and short."

Brad tells Marcie that she awoke a "dragon" inside him, confessing that he had forgotten that sex could be so exciting. Still, Marcie isn't swayed by Brad's advances. She lets him know that she regrets their affair and that she doesn't intend to let that happen again. Marcie can tell that Brad still loves Alex, and she encourages him to try to fix his marriage.

Before Marcie retires to her bedroom, though, Brad makes a final play: He warns her that she'd better lock her door because he wouldn't be able to control his sexual impulses if she were to appear in the night.
