Update Your Blinds With This No-Sew Project

Season 6 Episode 15
CC
Make these inexpensive but sophisticated linen blinds to add some color to your space.

Materials
  • Fabric
  • Tape measure
  • (2) Fabric scissors
  • Yard stick (with 2 pre-drilled holes for the hangers)
  • Iron
  • Fabric glue
  • Hack saw
  • Metal hanger

    Directions

Measure and cut the fabric to the size of the bedroom window (37” w x 57” L).

Make a 1inch double fold at the top of the fabric. Fold once and iron. Fold again, iron again.

Use the fabric glue to run a bead of glue along the inside of the double fold. Run the glue along the seam and pat down gently as you run the glue. This creates a pocket in which we can slip the yard stick through. Repeat for the top and bottom.

Take the two yard sticks and cut them down to 35 inches with the handsaw.

Fold the yard stick at each end of the linen blinds. This helps add weight to the blinds. Run the iron over the fold.

Screw one eye hooks into the top center of the blinds and through the yard stick.

    Hang blinds.
