On OWN’s new mega-church drama Greenleaf, Lamman Rucker plays Jacob Greenleaf.

The only son of Bishop James and Lady Mae Greenleaf, Jacob is a loving father and a husband to Kerissa Greenleaf. "Jacob's also somebody who's had a lot of other dreams and aspirations that didn't necessarily include being part of the family business," Lamman reveals in this character profile of Jacob.

"There's a lot of challenges that Jacob's going through in his marriage, his relationship with his mother and his father and accepting the role that's been asked of him," Lamman says. "We're seeing some of the behavior and choices and transgressions from him. He's kind of like the unhappy prince in the palace, and he knows there are certain things he can get away with."

Lamman says Jacob is well-intentioned but confused. "I think he's a very loving man. I think he's very intelligent, but I also think he's lost," Jacob says. "He doesn't really know what his purpose is. He's trying to find his way, trying to make his marriage work, trying to stay committed to his children in the midst of everything going on around him, but I think he's somebody that you're going to care for and hopefully be pulling for."
