In OWN's new mega-church drama , Benjamin Patterson plays Noah Kendall, the head of security for the Greenleaf family and the keeper of their secrets.
His main jobs, Benjamin says, are to “make sure that everything is going smoothly, that everyone is safe and that things are being attended to.”
Additionally, there is romantic intrigue between Noah and one of Bishop James Greenleaf’s children. “My ex is the daughter of the Bishop and there is a certain amount of tension between us because, you know, we’ve grown up, we’ve kind of reconnected after some years of not really seeing each other and now I also have a fiancé, so it’s a little bit of a love triangle.”
Many of the family’s deepest secrets have been passed down to Noah. “I think the most interesting thing is that my father worked with the Greenleaf family and, as the heir to his work, I now have kind of inherited a lot of secrets that the family holds,” Benjamin says, “and as the season progresses, you’ll learn that there are some not-so-nice things that have happened that I’ve had to keep under wraps.”
Tune in for the two-night season premiere on Tuesday, June 21 at 10 p.m. ET/PT, and Wednesday, June 22 at 9 p.m. ET/PT and 10 p.m. ET/PT. The remaining episodes will air regularly on Wednesdays at 10 p.m. ET/PT.
