Mac Tries to Blackmail the Bishop

Season 1 Episode 113
CC | tv-pg
The bishop wants Mac behind bars as much as Grace and the rest of the Greenleafs do. However, Mac holds a secret about the bishop's past that may force the spiritual leader to defend his doomed brother-in-law.

Mac calls the bishop to the prison, where he is awaiting trial, to deliver his blackmail. "Thanks for coming," Mac says into the prison phone.

"What in the hell do you want, Robert?" the bishop asks.

"You're not going to even ask how my shoulder's doing?" Mac says.

"No," the bishop says, flatly.

"Got a sensing here coming on. If you appeared as a character witness, you know, saying I had a change of heart..." Mac says.

"Are you kidding me??" the bishop says.

"I'm just looking for a reason to not tell the law what you did," Mac says, going on to suggest that he may not be able to keep quiet for long if he stays behind bars.

"I don't know how you look at the world," the bishop says.

"Same way you do, I imagine," Mac growls.

"No. I look at the world and I see nothing but the glory of the lord," the bishop says. "Seems like all you see are ants climbing all over some dead thing, trying to get another taste of the meat."

The bishop pauses briefly. Well, you do what you want," he says. "There's no way I'm going to spit on the memory of my daughter shining you up."
