Kevin and Charity Grapple with the Truth

Kevin wants to get back into his wife's good graces but isn't sure how. Realizing he's running out of options, he decides to tell Charity the truth about his growing sexual confusion.

Kevin asks Charity to sit down, telling her that he has something important to say. "I don't want to talk to you about it," Kevin says. "I want to put it behind me, but I have to tell you if I want to be with you."

Charity, who has suspected that her husband may be sleeping with another woman, looks teary-eyed but happy that her husband is ready to speak. "It's true."

"And being with you and those babies is what I want, Charity, you've got to believe me," Kevin says.

"I've been having feelings."

"About another woman," Charity says.

"No."

"So...what?" Charity looks confused.

"I haven't done anything. They're just feelings, and I have prayed. Baby, I've been praying," Kevin says. Tears begin rolling down his cheeks. "They won't go away."

"What kind of feelings?" Charity asks. She's beginning to get anxious. "What kind of feelings?"

Still, Kevin can't form the words.

"Kevin," Charity says, demanding an answer.

"Feelings about...about men," he says.

Charity tries to hold back the tears. "What does that mean?"

Kevin just looks at his hands, and Charity explodes. "Kevin, what does that mean?" she screams.

"I don't know," Kevin says. "Look, but I love you. I want help; I want to fix this. I want to fix this."

"Are you gay?"

"I don't know."

Charity gazes at her husband, a look of shock and hurt spreading across her face. "Why would you do this?" she says quietly, placing her hands on her belly, over their unborn children.
