Inside the Episode: "The Promised Land"

Season 3 Episode 310
CC | tv-pg
Greenleaf show creator Craig Wright and executive producer Kriss Turner Towner discuss Episode 310, "The Promised Land." Craig and Kriss kick off their conversation by addressing the emotional letter that Lady Mae penned to her children about the divorce being official. "If you're a Greenleaf, these are the pillars. This is the strength. And to see this crumble, I never thought it would get that far," Kriss says. "And when it did, I was like, 'Whoa.'"

"Everything went to hell," Craig adds. "But also, I feel like ... you could feel the show resisting this divorce. Like, no one wanted to do it because we were all scared. Like, 'What happens if they divorce?' But we couldn't find any way to get them back together, so we finally gave up."

Craig and Kriss then talk about Kerissa's confrontation of Jacob about his kiss with Tasha. Craig and Kriss discuss the possibility of Kerissa leaving Jacob and whether she should stay with him. "She says she's done, but we'll see if she's done," Kriss says.

"You have to ask yourself, like, what on earth would make Kerissa stay after this? Jacob was such a cheater for so long," Craig adds. "He thought he had changed. She thought he had changed. And now it looks like he hasn't."

Finally, Craig and Kriss examine the roles that Pastor Maxine Patterson and Percy Lee play as confidants of Lady Mae and the bishop, respectively.
