Character Profile: Bishop James Greenleaf

Bishop James Greenleaf is the head pastor of Calvary World Ministries, a mega-church in Memphis, Tennessee, on OWN's hit drama Greenleaf. On the surface, the bishop, played by Keith David, appears to have everything figured out, yet, in reality, he's given to the same frailties as everyone else.

When Season 1 drew to a close, the bishop's health was declining, which could force him to step down from his pulpit. Meanwhile, a dark specter has re-emerged from his past, calling into question his claim to righteousness.
