Ava DuVernay On The Importance Of Gender Parity Among Cherish The Day Crew

With the new anthology series Cherish The Day, visionary Ava DuVernay continues to champion inclusion and representation by achieving gender parity among the production crew.

DuVernay successfully reached gender parity on the set of Cherish The Day, assembling a crew that is at least 50% women across the departments, including 18 female department heads.

“We make this show as a challenge to other creators out there. Don’t say it’s not possible because it is,” DuVernay said of the landmark achievement.

“If you care about it, do it. And we should all care about it.”
