Makes 6 servings, 8 1/2 oz. each


  • 8 apples (Fuji, Golden Delicious, McIntosh, or a mixture of different varieties), cored, peeled and chopped
  • 1/2 cup apple cider
  • 1 tablespoon ground cinnamon
  • 1 tablespoon fresh lemon juice
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract


Place apples in a 5-quart slow cooker. Add cider, cinnamon, lemon juice and vanilla. Cover and cook on low 4–6 hours or until apples soften.

Using a hand-held immersion blender or masher, blend or mash apples to desired consistency. Serve warm or chilled.
