After the October 8, 2005, earthquake in Pakistan, volunteers and doctors rebuilt a burned-out theater into a post-op care center for female patients with spinal cord injuries.
Since the earthquake the Melody Center has provided a home and medical care for over 70 women paralyzed in the earthquake.

- $125 donated to CARE provides a primary school education for one year for a girl who lives in the salt flats.
- $200 helps a group of 20 women establish a savings and credit group, which will help fuel women owned start up businesses.
- $248 pays to train two women health volunteers to teach women in the community about maternal and child health.
