If you're looking for a fun family project, this easy DIY toy sculpture lamp is a perfect activity you can do with kids. Next time you're going through drawers and thinking about throwing away old toys, make this spectacular lamp instead.
Home Made Simple designer and host Jeremiah Brent helps eight-year-old Winston repurpose some of his worn out plastic toys to make a one-of-a-kind lamp for his mom using just a pre-bought lamp, glue gun, paint and the old toys.
First, they quickly paint all of the toys with a coat of white paint (you can choose any color that matches your décor) and let them dry. Next, they carefully place the toys on the base and neck of the lamp in an artfully arranged pattern and hot glue them on. After drying, the lamp is ready to go. This piece will brighten up any room and will be full of unique memories that can be enjoyed every time it's put to use.
