1. Decorative Boxes
Whether he's visiting a small vintage market or a multidealer antiques mall, Nate always keeps an eye out for a new decorative box to add to his ever-growing collection. "Mainly because they're decorative but also because they're easy to pack," he posted on Instagram.
2. Beads, Beads and More Beads
The right string of beads can add a much-needed pop of color and texture to any space. "I'll hang them on the wall, drape them over a lamp, layer into a box...you get the idea," Nate wrote.
3. Fabrics from Around the World
Nate's found some of his favorite textiles abroad—and that includes everything from hand-loomed Venetian table runners to woven placemats from Bangkok.
4. One-of-a-Kind Finds
"The things that always grab my eye are pieces that I've never seen before, and I'm convinced I'm never going to see again," wrote Nate. Exhibit A: His dining room cabinet filled with unusual curios, like an oversize wooden chain link.
Nate's Pro Tip
Remember, to find the best antique shops and dealers, the locals know best: "Make friends with people, be gracious and ask them where they shop."
