Tetanus and diphtheria (Td)

Required at 10-year intervals.

 
Influenza

Recommended annually for adults over the age of 50; anyone who is pregnant; anyone with a chronic disease; and residents of nursing homes or long-term care facilities. It is also recommended for health care workers.

 
Pneumococcal (pneumonia and meningitis)

Recommended for all adults over the age of 65; anyone with a chronic disease or suppressed immune system; and residents of nursing homes or long-term care facilities. It should be repeated every 10 years.

 
Hepatitis A and Hepatitis B

For adults who have a heightened change in risk from, for example, potentially being exposed to hepatitis through their job, family members, foreign travel or risky behavior.

 
MMR (Measles, Mumps, Rubella)

For people over the age of 18 who were born after 1956, at least one dose of the measles, mumps, rubella vaccination is recommended. Blood should be tested for immunity to these diseases before vaccination.

 
Varicella (chickenpox vaccination)

Recommended for anyone who hasn't been exposed to chickenpox. Unexposed pregnant women should not be vaccinated until after delivery.
