Shake things up at your inaugural bash—or any party— with this Milky Way Malt Shake! Chef Spike Mendelsohn, owner of Good Stuff Eatery in Washington, D.C., created this treat in celebration of Barack Obama's inauguration.
Servings: Serves 4
Ingredients
  • 1/2 cup hot fudge
  • 1/2 cup butterscotch
  • 1 cup crushed malt balls
  • 2 cup creamy vanilla ice cream
  • Directions
Take whatever glass you are serving the milkshake in (recommend 16-ounce tall glass) and run 1 tablespoon of hot fudge and 1 tablespoon of butterscotch around the glass to form an abstract coating on the inside.

Mix malt balls in blender until they are crushed but not to a powdery mixture???you still want some texture. You can also leave them in the bag and pound with a hammer a few times.

Set 4 teaspoons of crushed malt balls aside.

Pour all ingredients into a blender and mix for 5 minutes or until there's a thick but drinkable consistency.

Once you pour the milkshake into the glass, top with whipped cream (optional) and a teaspoon of crushed malt balls.
