Serves 6

Ingredients

For the crumble:
  • 3/4 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup unrefined cane sugar
  • 3/4 cup walnut halves, roughly chopped
  • Scant 1/2 cup cold salted butter, cubed

    For the filling:
  • 1 3/4 pounds figs
  • 2 1/2 Tbsp. honey

    Directions

Preheat the oven to 350°. Rinse and halve the figs.

Put the flour, sugar, walnuts and butter into a bowl. Rub the butter into the other ingredients rapidly with your fingertips until the mixture resembles breadcrumbs. Chill.

Arrange the figs in a gratin dish, drizzle with honey and sprinkle with the crumble. Bake in the oven for approximately 40 minutes, until the crumble is golden.
