"I would love to work with Julian Schnabel—and he knows it," says Gooding, who met the painter and filmmaker about ten years ago and admires him for his many accomplishments, including the movie The Diving Bell and the Butterfly. As Schnabel writes in his introduction to this book of his work, "When I'm painting I start off doing one thing and...then something else crosses my path...and I end up doing something that I never expected to do." Gooding says, "This book is a fascinating insight into a complex man. He has artistic points of view on everything from relationships to the Middle East."
