Books to Read Before They Become Movies
We love a good film.
But—when it comes to storytelling—books rule.

Me Before You
Jojo Moyes' 2013 novel
a global best-seller thanks to its heart-tugging romance between a naïve young
woman and the moody paraplegic man she's been hired to care for. For the film version
, out June 3, Moyes wrote the
script herself, preserving the core roles of Louisa (Emilia Clarke), who has a
big heart and a closet stuffed with quirky ensembles, and William (Sam
Claflin), the dark-minded hero whose heart she thaws. Yet, go back to Moyes'
original novel for a deeper dive into Louisa's working-class family and to see how her struggle
to help her parents make ends meet adds complexity to her character and cuts
some of the story's sugar-coating.
