Books to Read Before They Become Movies

Set in a sleepy Ohio campus in 1951, Indignation (out July 29) stars Logan Lerman as Marcus, an anxious college student who's struggling to adapt to a Midwestern Christian school and make sense of the troubled girl he's developed a crush on. Philip Roth, author of the original 2008 novel, is a master at balancing sex, religion, morality and American life, and  particularly brilliant at balancing Marcus' personal concerns with the increasing drumbeats of the Korean War.
