Sarah In an act of road rage last spring, an enraged California driver reached into Sarah McBurnett's car after a minor fender bender, grabbed her dog Leo and threw him into oncoming traffic. The dog that she had for 10 years died, and the man responsible fled the scene of the crime.

Follow-Up
After a massive public campaign and efforts by the San Jose and Santa Clara police departments, donations to find Leo's killer reached over $100,000, and the man who threw Leo into traffic was captured.

This July, Sarah got her day in court. Andrew Douglas Burnett was found guilty of Felony Animal Cruelty, and he was sentenced to the maximum three years in prison.
