The Oprah Winfrey Show
Oprah"Since I've recommitted to good health, I've lost 33 pounds. I'm on no particular diet. I just eat healthier. I've watched my body reshape itself." — Oprah

You need to customize a plan that works for you. Here are four steps from Bob Greene's Get with the Program Guide to Good Eating that have been effective for Oprah.

Set an Eating Cut-off Time
Bob recommends not eating 2–3 hours before going to sleep, because your body needs to go into its food fat stores. Bob says the discomfort of being a little hungry will eventually pass.

Eat Breakfast
Bob says that eating breakfast raises the rate at which you burn calories and elevates your energy level. As soon as food hits your stomach, your metabolism gets going for the day, and you start burning calories earlier.

Redistribute your Calories
Eating bigger breakfasts and smaller dinners will boost your metabolism. Bob says eating the majority of your calories at one meal causes your body to store fat.

Make Healthy Food Choices
Here are some healthier food choices that Oprah has made that you can too:
Cut back on salt.
Cut back on white foods.
Eat brown rice instead of white rice—it's not as processed, so it digests better.
Watch your carbohydrate intake: that means low-carb, not no-carb.
