Metallic dress by Vera Wang

Her new Simply Vera Vera Wang line at Kohl's is glamorous and chic. But we couldn't have Vera stop by the show without bringing some of her favorite red carpet creations and signature wedding gowns!

Handmade out of metallic embroidery, this slinky, sophisticated A-line dress is from Vera's Ready to Wear Russian collection.

To accessorize, Vera added Hari Indian jewelry and a bonnet to create an edgy feel for the runway.
Taffeta dress by Vera Wang

Clearly suited for the red carpet, this dress was worn by Joan Allen to one of her movie premieres in London. "This dress is all about working the taffeta," Vera says. The sequined apron highlights this gorgeous gown and creates a unique short-to-long length.
Sequined T-Shirt Dress by Vera Wang

Vera calls this a "glamorous T-shirt dress" because it is so simple to wear. A panel of sequins is featured in front, while the back drapes into a beautiful train. The crystal embroidery forms an emblem, a signature piece in Vera's Ready to Wear Russian collection.
Michelle Williams's Oscar dress by Vera Wang

You may remember this dress worn by Michelle Williams at the 2006 Oscars®. Michelle took the look to the next level by complementing the saffron yellow dress with bright red lipstick. Vera says the Victorian neckline frames the face and the shoulders for a truly stunning look.
Sandra Oh's Emmy dress by Vera Wang

When Sandra Oh saw this Grecian-inspired dress made of iridescent chiffon, Vera says she fell in love with it. "We fitted it to her and we sort of moved the waist around, so it's really an original," Vera says. Sandra must have been pleased, because she wore the dress to the Emmys®!
Rachel Weisz's Oscar dress by Vera Wang

Rachel Weisz wore this goddess dress to the 2007 Oscars®. The slinking chamois gown with a stunning train creates a dress that is gorgeous both coming and going. "I think the crystal bow gives it some whimsy and takes a little bit of the seriousness out of it," Vera says.
Keira Knightley's Oscar dress by Vera Wang

When Keira Knightley wore this one-shoulder mermaid ball gown to the Oscars® in 2006, you may have noticed the beautiful iridescent color and the pleated taffeta that Vera says has an almost origami effect.

"What you all can't see at home when you're watching this is that the dresses are structured inside," Oprah says. "They build it to fit your proportions. That's why you look so darn good in it!"
Oprah in gold dress by Vera Wang

Vera has designed many dresses for Oprah over the years, but her favorite is this gold dress that she wore to the 2005 Oscars®. The dress was made of tulle and embroidered in metallic thread. "And it was constructed, it was built, it was shaped around my body," Oprah says. "You couldn't tell me I wasn't cute!"
Wedding dress by Vera Wang

While Vera has designed plenty of beautiful gowns for the red carpet, it is her exquisite, one-of-a-kind wedding gowns that turned Vera Wang into a household name. Oprah says that when she first visited Vera Wang's boutique in New York with a friend who was getting married, she was completely wowed by the display. "There are racks and racks of the most beautiful wedding gowns. You want to just weep and name them all!"

Vera says this simple style can be worn with flip-flops at a beach wedding or dressed up with a heel for a chic look. The inner slip of the dress is completely sequined so that you can see a hint of sparkle through the dress.
Grecian wedding dress by Vera Wang

Vera designed this Grecian toga-style dress made of silk jersey for the fashion-forward bride. "By the way, this shape is very easy on most women," Vera says. "It hides a lot when it's draped up at the top and falls straight."
Strapless wedding dress by Vera Wang

It's classic, and always beautiful—Vera's strapless gowns. Vera says the strapless design brings the attention up to the neck and face, while the mermaid shape created in satin-faced organza creates a beautiful silhouette.

"It's almost like the most beautiful wedding cake, tiered and layered," Vera says.
