When you're going through your closet, start early, in good natural light, and have the following on hand:
☐ Sewing kit with scissors for minor repairs
☐ Iron-on seam tape to fix fallen hems
☐ Vision board (a bulletin board with images of people and outfits that inspire you)
☐ Cameras: Both Polaroid (for taping pictures of shoes to the outsides of their boxes) and digital (so you can see how an outfit really looks from different angles)
☐ An honest friend to take the pictures and offer her opinion
☐ A steamer (instead of an iron) to remove wrinkles in a pinch and save money on dry cleaning
☐ Garbage bags, for sorting and donating unwanted items
